VSI Secures Transformational IT Applications & Infrastructure Deal with Helios Global

Seven-year partnership modernises core apps, hybrid cloud, and workplace services for the energy major.

Energy conglomerate Helios Global has chosen VSI Technologies for a seven-year, multi-tower transformation covering application rationalisation, hybrid-cloud migration, and digital workplace modernisation across 32 countries. The strategic partnership aims to cut total IT spend by 25 %, accelerate renewable-energy initiatives, and fortify cyber resilience. VSI will refactor more than 600 legacy applications into cloud-native services, leveraging its Cloud

Nova factory and domain microservice templates. Parallel streams will migrate SAP and engineering-data workloads to a sovereign-cloud mesh, ensuring data-residency compliance while unlocking elastic compute for high-performance simulations. On infrastructure, VSI will consolidate 14 data centres into four green facilities powered entirely by renewable energy, backed by carbon-aware workload orchestration that shifts noncritical processing to off-peak renewable surpluses. Digital workplace overhaul introduces zero-trust edge gateways, device-as-a-service with self-healing firmware, and employee experience analytics that predict support needs and automate resolution–boosting productivity and satisfaction. Integrated Cyber Defense will deploy continuous threat hunting, OT-IT convergence monitoring, and quantum-resistant encryption for long-life field telemetry. A joint Cyber Fusion Centre co-located at Helios headquarters will drive proactive posture management and incident response. KPI-driven governance ties VSI's fees to uptime, energy consumption per compute unit, application performance index, and user-experience scores. Quarterly innovation funds finance pilot projects in generative-AI field-maintenance assistants and blockchain-based carbon credit tracking. The engagement is expected to free $400 million for Helios' renewable portfolios, reduce carbon emissions by 40,000 tons annually, and establish a digital foundation for autonomous operations. VSI's outcome-based model ensures shared risk and reward, setting a new benchmark for large-scale IT transformation in the energy sector.
